Alhamdulillah, praise be to Allah for making Projek Baginda 2015 a huge success. This annual event is held every 12 Rabiulawal to commemorate Kindness Icon, i.e Nabi Muhammad S.A.W. Besides Kuala Lumpur, Pahang, Perak, Melaka, Kedah, Perlis, and Johor, Kindness Terengganu (KT) also participated in this year’s event, where we gave away boxes of raisins to the public, sponsored by Rural Transformation Centre (RTC), Johor.
Projek Baginda Terengganu edition took place in Mesra Mall, Kemaman, Terengganu. The volunteers gathered at 12 p.m. and were given a short brief by the person in charge ensure the event ran smoothly. Although there were only three volunteers (as some were on leave and working), we managed to achieve the objective of the programme.

We could see a lot of reactions from the crowds when we were handing over the goodies. Some thought we were selling stuffs, but when we explained the aim of the event, they happily accepted it. There were also times where our volunteers were asked about the event and Kindness itself. Those questions came from people from all walks of life. That was the beauty of it.

Due to the tremendous responses, our giveaway ended just before Zuhr prayer. We had a short chat during refreshments and shared each other’s stories. Everyone was happy and looked forward for the upcoming events.
One volunteer stated that when she handed the raisins to some non-Muslims, she felt overjoyed when the non-Muslims thanked and seemed interested with the programme. Plus, the experience as a volunteer gave her memorable and unique feelings, despite it was simply giving away goodies. This proves that this event not only affected the crowds, but it also gave positive effects to the volunteers, which achieved another objective of Projek Baginda.
