Tonight at sunset, Muslims in Malaysia and around the world will mark the start of Ramadan.
Ramadan is a sacred time of the year for the Muslim community and commemorates the revealing of the Qur'an to Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him
The month long journey of fasting and prayer encourages and revives spiritual growth, reflection and compassion for those who are less fortunate.
Ramadan is also a time when the community of Muslims gather to strengthen ties with family and friends to pray and share iftar together
For all of us, Ramadan is a reminder to appreciate the many gifts we are given by the Al-Mighty and to give back generously to others and to communities around the world.
This year and as previous years we will be having the TajaMereka Project as an appreciation for all we had that was given to us by God. A chance for all to share their joy with their loved ones and the needy and be together to embrace the spirit of Ramadan. It is the time where we show our gratitude to the Most Gracious and Most Merciful.
On behalf of The World Kindness Movement, Kindness Malaysia, my family and I extend our best wishes to Muslim communities here in Malaysia and around the world.
Ramadan Kareem!
